Ford recalls three Brazil-built Ranger diesel utes over brake fluid leak
Why it matters: a tiny recall, but a genuine, officially registered diesel safety issue on Ford's newest Ranger model year in South America.
Ford do Brasil has issued an official recall covering three examples of the 2027-model Ranger fitted with the 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine, all built on 1 June 2026. The fault sits in the brake master cylinder outlet tube assembly, which can develop a manufacturing defect that lets brake fluid leak out, triggering a warning light, demanding extra pedal pressure and lengthening stopping distances. The fix is free: an hour's inspection and tube replacement at authorised dealers, with repairs starting 8 October 2026. This is separate from an earlier, unrelated August 2026 Brazilian recall and a much larger US recall over a petrol-spec centre-screen fault.
