A plain reminder that large-scale coal mining in Southeast Asia still runs on diesel iron, in a market this newsroom is working to cover more.
Liebherr Indonesia says mining services contractor Darma Henwa has now taken delivery of ten machines, four R 9200 crawler excavators and six PR 776 dozers, split between its Bengalon site in East Kalimantan and Kintap in South Kalimantan. Deliveries ran from the third quarter of 2025 through to April 2026, with three of the ten being Generation 8 models.
Liebherr now counts 17 machines at Bengalon and four at Kintap in total. Bengalon operations manager Arofik Anwar praised the R 9200's fuel efficiency and structural strength since arrival.
