Why it matters: in a market where diesel sales are sliding and fuel prices are high, Mahindra is cutting thousands off its budget diesel SUV to keep it moving, a sharp contrast to brands quietly dropping diesel altogether.
Mahindra Australia has cut the price of its Scorpio seven-seat diesel SUV, pitched as the country's most affordable diesel 4x4 with three rows. The Z8+ now starts at $43,990 drive-away, a $4000 saving, while the Z8L+ drops to $45,990, down $3000. Both run a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel four making 129kW and 400Nm through a six-speed auto and four-wheel drive. The offer applies only to 2025-built stock and runs until 31 December 2026.
