MAN rolls out 60-tonne mining tipper for Chile, Morocco and beyond

Why it matters: MAN is scaling up its heavy-mining truck range specifically for thin-but-growing markets in Latin America, Africa and the Middle East, where roughly 135,000 mining trucks already run around the clock.
MAN Truck and Bus has unveiled a new 60-tonne mining tipper, the TGS 60.540 8x4 BB, building on the 50-tonne model it launched in 2023. The truck carries around 40 tonnes of payload and is powered by MAN's 12.4-litre D2676 diesel engine, putting out 540hp and 2650Nm of torque through a TipMatic 12.28 automated gearbox with an off-road driving mode. Euro 6 left-hand-drive versions arrive first in Chile and Morocco, with Euro 2 to Euro 5 variants following for wider use across Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.
